Adjuvia by Merck is the latest addition to adult onset diabetes.  An oral tablet  that does not cause hypoglycemia that can be used by itself or as an addition to existing medicines.

Zostavax is now available for the prevention of shingles for patients 60 and older.   This vaccine will reduce the risk of shingles by about 50%, and reduce postherpetic neuralgia by 67%.  And there are no significant side effects for most people.

Chantix is the newest aid for people trying to stop smoking.  Not only does it decrease the desire for nicotine it also blocks the effects that nicotine produces in the brain.  In other words the inhaled nicotine does stimulate the receptors that produce the "pleasurable" feelings.
